Faces Refreshed - Lynnette Allen-NPC
is proud to announce that it has been selected by Suneva Medical the makers of Bellafill to be a Regional Training Center.

In this role Lynnette Allen, NP-C trains physician injectors, plastic surgeons, as well as other injector trainers at her office on the safe and proper use of long-term fillers like Bellafill®.

What is Bellafill®?

Bellafill® is the only dermal filler that’s FDA approved to smooth smile lines for up to 5 years and treat acne scars. Although Bellafill® is like other dermal fillers, in that it can correct folds and add volume to the face, it is far more advanced because it acts as a biostimulator. As a biostimulator, Bellafill® is the only dermal filler that not only stimulates collagen growth long term to help maintain your youthful appearance, it also improves the texture of your skin. Experienced filler patients, and those who simply don’t want to deal with repeat injections will find this unique two-part filler provides both instant effect and continuing effect for years to come.  Bellafill® is a great alternative for anyone who wants to look their best without continually investing time and money on frequent filler injections.

Case Description Actual Patient

A natural looking long term result to correct the lower face was the primary concern of this patient.

Bellafill®  is FDA approved to treat nasolabial folds. These folds, sometimes called “smile lines,”  extend from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Bellafill® provides instant smoothness to this area and is the only dermal filler proven to be effective for up to 5 years.

What is Bellafill® Made Of?

Bellafill® is made of bovine collagen combined with small microscopic polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) spheres which are about the size of a cell. The PMMA spheres provide structural support to the skin and helps to continually stimulate collagen production. The PMMA qualities of biocompatibility, reliability, relative ease of manipulation, and low toxicity have made it a popoular material and has been used by many different medical specialties since 1949. PMMA has been used for bone cements; contact and intraocular lens; dental dentures and fillings, screw fixation in bone; filler for bone cavities and skull defects; and  vertebrae stabilization in osteoporosis patients. Bellafill® also contains 0.3% of local anesthetic (lidocaine) to improve comfort of the injections which almost all newer generations of dermal fillers have.

How Does Bellafill® Work As a Biostimulator?

The latest advances in filler technology include collagen biostimulators that exert their esthetic effect by promoting neocollagenesis which is the making of collagen. As a biostimulator, Bellafill®  is an injectable formulation that works by gradually increasing your skin’s natural collagen production. Bellafill®  is perfect to help restore structure and volume loss related to ageing. Once Bellafill® is injected, it directly provides the volume and lift needed to diminish the signs of ageing because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel. In addition to an immediate filling effect, the high-quality ingredients of the product stimulate the skin’s natural collagen synthesis that continues to work upto 5 years.

Is Bellafill® Safe?

Bellafill is a dual-acting injectable dermal filler. First, the collagen gel in Bellafill provides immediate volume and lift to correct the wrinkle and/or acne scar. The PMMA microspheres remain in place and create a base that provides structural support to the skin and continuously stimulates the production of your bodys own collagen.

Bellafill vs. Juvederm and Other Soft Tissue Fillers

Bellafill® named a
2019 Most Worth It procedure by RealSelf!

Juvederm was first approved by the FDA in 2006 and falls into the Hylauronic Acid category of fillers. Bellafill® was also first approved for deep wrinkles in 2006, and for the treatment of acne in 2014. Both fillers come with a risk of side effects. These can range from mild, like redness or itching right after the injection, to severe enough to require treatment, like enflamed nodules under the skin.

With other fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane, the ingredients are gradually re-absorbed by the body. By contrast, the microspheres in Bellafill® are not absorbed by the body. This is why Bellafill® lasts longer than other fillers on the market. The microspheres can only be removed surgically. This is why only the most skilled and experienced injectors are approved by Suneva to offer Bellafill® to the public.

What's more, the microspheres in Bellafill® also stimulate your body to produce collagen, which is the main structural protein found in your skin. Our collagen supply dwindles with advancing age, often resulting in facial lines, folds and other signs of aging on the face.

A Solution For Acne Scars

Bellafill is the first dermal filler FDA approved to treat acne scars that are deep and severe as well as more moderate acne scarring. For many people suffering with what may previously been seen as hopeless acne scarring, now have a FDA approved solution that can provide measurable improvement for those acne scars.

How Does Bellafill® Work For Acne Scarring?

Bellafill® fades acne scars by adding volume to them, bringing them to the level of the surrounding skin and keeping them there long-term. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm and Restylane, which often dissolve within a few months, Bellafill® creates a lasting improvement in your skin because as a bio-stimulator, it continually fuels the production of your own collagen. It helps restore rather than just fill for natural-looking, long term results.
